This year, I had the extraordinary privilege of celebrating my wedding with Yann at Hôtel La Folie Douce de Chamonix. It was nothing short of an incredible experience. If you dream of a lavish wedding in a luxurious hotel, where the atmosphere is both vibrant and dance-filled, then I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Our story began in 2019, when Yann and I first met. We were traveling, and by pure chance, we were both doing the Machu Picchu trek at the same time. It was at the summit of this iconic mountain, Machu Picchu, that we spoke to each other for the very first time — a moment that marked the beginning of our journey together.
The Marriage Proposal
Living in Lausanne, Switzerland, the marriage proposal took place during a period of seasonal transition. Spring had already arrived and the cherry trees were in bloom, but a cold spell had covered this already idyllic landscape with a layer of snow. The atmosphere was magical, perfectly reflecting our one-of-a-kind love.
The Preparations at La Folie Douce Chamonix
Choosing Hôtel La Folie Douce de Chamonix as the venue for our wedding was a dream come true. However, the preparations were not without challenges. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff exceptional, but communication with the hotel sometimes fell short. Despite these hurdles, the day ultimately unfolded in a memorable way.

The long-awaited day was a pure moment of happiness. We were fortunate to celebrate our love with our loved ones in a spectacular setting. The religious ceremony took place near the hotel, and the celebration then continued within La Folie Douce. The dancers and performances added an exciting touch to the atmosphere, turning the reception into a true celebration.
The Most Memorable Moment of Your Wedding
Among all the special moments of our day, what stood out most was when little Alba brought our wedding rings during the religious ceremony. As she walked through the flower arrangements set in front of the hotel, she stopped to smell the flowers, creating an unforgettable moment of tenderness.
